Celebrate!!!!

Today we celebrate another Blog Hop on Paper Wings website. This assignment was to use the new stamp set Little Cupcake. This was not a problem for me since it is one of my new favorite sets.

Yummy Cupcakes

For this card I wanted to stamp multiple cupcakes on it. One way to do this is to make a mask.

Here is a mask that I stamped on a post-it and cut out.

Once you stamp an image you then add the mask and then stamp on top of it. This creates some illusion of cupcakes being in front of each other.

I stamped all of these cupcakes and the sentiment in Palette Claret ink. I then colored the cupcakes with colored pencils and OMS. I added Crystal Lacquer to the cherries for a 3D dimensional effect. I mounted the image on pink and then on a brown. I added a few ribbon tags off of the end to dress it up a bit.

Here are a few more samples that I have made with this set:

Sweet Birthday Cake

I wanted to try something new with the Edge Designs set. I stamped the Little Cupcake set on white and then colored with colored pencils and OMS. I matted the image on black and then on a pink from the Uptown Girl paper set. I matted the sentiment from Little Cupcake the same way. I took post-it notes and masked the edges of the image and stamped the Edge Designs in as a corner frame. I love the look this made. I used more of the uptown girl paper for the card and then matted the whole thing with black cardstock and added black grosgrain ribbon.

Don't forget ... tomorrow is the big day when the Little Cupcake set will be used in a blog hop!

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday

Simple B-Day Card

Here is a simple birthday card that I made for a co-worker. The set used here is one of my new favorite TAC stamp sets - Little Cupcake. I colored the image with colored pencils and OMS. I then added crystal and gold stickles to the card for some added bling.

I mounted the image on a rectangle nestability and matted everything on shades of pink with white. The sentiment is from Ordinary Greetings and then I added 3 flower shaped brads. To add just a touch more bling, I added some more crystal stickles to the brads.

Enjoy!

Come back on Monday when we will have a blog hop using this same set. I can't wait to share my creation and there really should be some more fun ones with this set!

Bugawumps

Let your World Shine

My friend Kim and I recently attended a stamp show together. We met this wonderful lady Laura Jacobs that owns Bugawumps stamp company. She designs all of her own stamps and let me say they are wonderful!

While at her booth she demonstrated 3 techniques using oil pastels. I had never used them before and I was in awe! The above card uses oil pastels in the background and then you take a credit card and scrape some of them up and then lay them back down again. Finally the piece is heat set with an embossing gun.

I colored the bug with colored pencils and OMS. I added glitter with my Stardust glitter pens to the stars. The sentiment is from a TAC Seminar set 2 years ago. I stamped it on the same green paper that I punched a scalloped circle out of and the strip at the bottom. After I stamped it I cut out each word. Kim does this technique a lot and I love that look.

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Honey!

It was my husband's birthday last week. It was a biggie ... the big 5-0!

Best Fishes Card

I am not the best at making male cards ... this was my attempt at making a card for him with a fish theme. This is a stamp from TAC that has been retired for a bit. The fish saying is from an unknown source. The inside said "The Best comes to those that BAIT" and "Best Fishes on your 50th".

Fishing Gift Certificate

All that he wanted was a fishing trip out with his friend on Lake Michigan. So I got him this gift certificate and dressed it up by taking the company's brochure and cutting out all of the pictures. I added more of the fish from his card and pop-dotted some of the images.

And look what someone did to our house that morning ....

We had an an invasion of buzzards on our front lawn announcing to the neighbors that Tony was 50!

Posing with the sign

The buzzards were great!

Chase liked them too!

Hope you enjoyed your birthday Tony!

March Angel Art

Happy Easter

I made this card using 2 of the new sets in the Magalogue. I used the sheep and the sentiment from the Hoppity Skippity set. I colored the easter eggs and sheep with colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I added white fun flock to the sheep to make him fuzzy. I also used the Edge Designs set to add some extra flair to the card.

Other supplies used: Palette Noir ink, Apple Green cardstock, Blue cardstock, White cardstock

Spring Things Straw Toppers and Place Setting

I was inspired a few weeks ago by Theresa Momber's blog entry ... she made these cute little straw toppers. I thought this would be so cute if you could use these as a whole theme for a table setting!
So what better to use than this month's FREE Download at the Angel Company called Fresh Spring Things Place Card. This cute duck image can be used in many ways ... besides just a place card.

Straw Toppers

I printed out the sheet of the place cards and made straw toppers, place cards, and a place mat. Perfect for Easter!!

Place Setting

I love how everything is coordinated here. I took the place card as is and wrote a name on it. I made the straw toppers by punching the image in a circle punch (see more details below). Then I also punched another circle and matted it on a 11x17 piece of white paper. The idea behind this is if you have young kids at the table when they are done with dinner, give them a few crayons and they can color while the grown-ups finish their dinner.

To make the straw toppers you can mount your image in whatever shape that you would like. I made mine with the Marvy circle punches. It should be some where around 2-3".
To mount the image to the straw you cut a strip of cardstock 1"x3". And then score it on your Scor-Pal.

You score that piece at 1/2", 1", 2" and 2 1/2" (shown above).

Then you take a regular hole punch and punch holes as shown above.

Then fold the cardstock piece as shown above and place adhesive on these end flaps.

Adhere that piece to the matted image and trim any of the carstock strip that may overlap the image.

Hope this inspires you .... this is a great idea for family get-togethers, birthday parties, or just when you want a little extra flair to your drink.

Enjoy!

Thanks!

Buzzing with Thanks!

I am sure you guys are with me ... I can not wait until Spring! This card with the bee colors and the bee makes me think of Spring.

I stamped the bottom of the yellow cardstock with the new Edge Designs stamp. I love these stamps .. they are fast becoming some of my favs! The "Thank You" is from Ordinary Greetings. The bee is from the Spring Flowers set. I colored the bee with pencils and accented his wings with a Stardust glitter pen.

Hurry Up Spring!

Blissfully Ever After

It's that time again ... another PaperWings Blog Hop.
This time we were to use the Blissfully Ever After set. This is a great set for Wedding invites, Wedding Cards, Shower Cards, and Wedding Favors.

This is a simple but elegant card. It is accented by coloring the image with colored pencils and OMS. I then added Crystal Laquer to the hearts on top of the cake for an added effect. I tied a black ribbon on the card and threaded a silver heart charm to the knot.

You are going to have to trust me here ... I colored her dress with White Lace Stickles and it is gorgeous! So sparkly! (obviously does not scan well) I colored the rest of the image with colored pencils and OMS. The sentiment is from Rejoicing with You which ties beautifully with this set. Added some black gems next to the sentiment and viola!

This set can also be used wonderfully on Wedding or Bridal Shower favors. I colored the doves and mounted them on silver paper. I typed the couple's name on my computer and then tied a silver ribbon around the corner. This little box is great for a few mints, or M&Ms, or just about anything on the small side.

If you are looking for some wedding ideas for either you or someone you know you are in luck today .... The following are other blogs that have created items using this set as well.

Enjoy!

Little Card with a Little Cupcake

This is a 4" x 4" square card. I used the new magalogue set Little Cupcake on this card. (can you tell I LOVE this set???) I colored the cupcake with colored pencils and OMS. I left the icing alone. I used Liquid Applique for the frosting. I let is set for about 1 hour and then I went back an used my embossing gun on it. It looks alot better and more even when you let it dry for a bit. I added Crystal Lacquer to the cherry for a 3-D effect. I punched a scallop circle out of black paper and mounted the white circled image on it. I punched triangular corners with my paper piercer and a pice of plastic canvas. Makes a fun and quick birthday card when you don't have much time.

Enjoy!

Thank Ewe

Thank Ewe

This is card showcases 2 new stamp sets from the new TAC magalogue. I used the Edge Designs set along the bottom of the card and the Hoppity Skippity set for the sentiment and lamb. I used my Marvvy Glue Pen to add glue to the lamb and then applied white fun flock to him to make him fuzzy. I love using this glue with the fun flock (it works REALLY well). I colored the grass with colored pencils and OMS. Everything was mounted on black cardstock.
