TAC Farewell Blog Hop

TAC announced last week that they will be closing their doors.  This came with shock and sadness to me and my fellow Angels.  Paper Wings and Shirley Hotop had been planning for a blog hop for today and they decided to continue on with this plan and make it more of a tribute ... so I just HAD to participate!

I had made this fun card and matching bag for a publication submission with a sketch that they had provided.  They did not choose it  :(   so the good news is that I can share it with you here!!!

I used the Level A set called Dotty Flowers ... I stamped them with various colors of pallet ink on this Kraft card.  I added the Sew Easy Floss to the bag and to the buttons.  I added the sentiment from Thinking of You stamped in black.  I aged the edges of the Kraft cardstock with Cognac palette.

The matching bag was made the exact same way as the card and I added a big, black, satin ribbon bow!

As most of you know ... I am moving on to another Home Demonstrator Stamp Company called Amuse Studios ... although I still am very sad about TAC, I am very excited about my new adventure.

As part of this wonderful Blog Hop I'd like to offer you a chance to win the stamp set that I used on my project above.  I have an extra of this set and it is brand new and uncut!

Want to win it?  Just leave a comment here from now to Tuesday and I will pick a winner at 6pm on Tuesday 8/30.

Thanks so much for visiting!

ENJOY!

The Angel Company

I know that a lot of you were very shocked when I posted on Monday that I left The Angel Company.

We were told over the weekend that TAC was closing and hanging up their wings.  It was really, really hard!  We were not allowed to say much until it became official and public.  This happened on Tuesday and again that day was really, really hard!

I will always have a special place in my heart for TAC and I will miss the company and Mischelle Smith and all of my Angel friends!

For me, I am very excited to get started with Amuse ... come on Brown Truck!!! ... deliver my starter kit!!!

Keep watching for more to come ....

Come back here sunday @ 8pm.  We are going to have a Special Blog Hop dedicated to TAC and all of the wonderful stamps from the last catalog!  It is sure to be fabulous!  and I will have BLOG CANDY!!!

Why Amuse Studios???

Thanks for all of the well wishes yesterday!
I got a lot of questions as to ... Why Amuse Studios?  What makes Amuse Studios so special?

Well let me tell you ... in this day and age we are all looking for convenient and easy!
and Amuse Studios delivers!!!

First of all the PACKAGING ... and anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE Packaging!!!  They come in DVD cases ... no more CD cases that break and shatter!!!  And they are included and indexed with the images!!!

Second of all ... it's rubber ... RED RUBBER! ... Not acrylic! And they are PRE-CUT ... no more Kai scissors!!!

Thirdly ... they are INDEXED ... no more trying to use StazOn on the back of the cling!  You will always be able to tell if your words are right-side up!

And maybe ... most importantly ... you can be stamping in SECONDS once your stamps arrive ... no more assembly and cutting ... just slap it on a block and STAMP!!!

Amuse Studios also makes some fabulous coordinating dies to go along with their stamps.  This is the ticket die.

No more StazOn, No more assembly, No more Kais - well don't throw these out .. you paid good money for your Kais and they cut well  :)

What I TRULY will miss about TAC stamps ... that WONDERFUL smell of fresh blue rubber in a clamshell ... seriously TAC should bottle that smell ... I LOVE IT!!!

Well I hope that shows you just a few of the great reasons as to why I think Amuse Studio stamps are fabulous!

To view all of the stamps offered by Amuse ... please visit my new on-line store HERE and click on "shop" to view the wonderful product!

And now for my first Amuse Card ....

Welcome

I thought this would be an appropriate topic for today's card.....

For this card I used the following sets: Jolly Gingerbread (house), Polka Dot Patterns, Vintage Labels and used the Labels Set dies .... I colored the house with my copics.  I popped the sentiment with fun foam and added a ribbon .... new, fresh, and fun!

Happy Birthday!

This was a card that I made with Lucy's Cheese set for my friend Shirley.

The inside says "Age is not important unless you are a Cheese!"

I was soooo excited to get it to Shirley that I forgot to take a picture of it before I sent it!!!
Thanks Shirley for scanning it and sending me the scan!

Hear the Music

Music

I fell in love with this stamp the moment that I saw it in the new catalog.

It is called Music Washes and it says "music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life".
Life has it's ups and downs and I love to escape by putting on my iPod!

I colored this with my copics and I aged the white cardstock with Cognac palette ink.  I added some nestabilities and I popped the main image and added a ribbon with a bow.

ENJOY!

Published - TWICE!!!

Every now and then I send a few cards in to the publications in hopes that they get published.  It always is a surprise when they finally do because it can be 1 to 2 years later and I have completely forgotten about those cards.

When I returned from vacation I had these 2 magazines in my mailbox ... published in BOTH!!!

Scrap & Stamp - October 2011

Thankful - In Bloom

This is one of the new sets in the 2011 TAC Catalog called Be Fabulous. I colored it with my copics and popped the image. I then stamped and popped the extra bee in the set and added him to my card. I added a ribbon and sentiment from Thinking of You and viola! I love the simple and sophisticated look of this card with just this collage block.

Homeward Bound

Our family has spent a wonderful last 12 days together in Washington DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. The trip was fun, educational, and full of baseball games!

Every year my son and husband take a baseball trip and visit a few ball parks ... this year they wanted to go out east and I wanted to go with them!
We did so many fun things ... everyday we had 1-3 activities planned out!

Some of the highlights were the White House tour, Arlington National Cemetery, Max's Tavern in Baltimore, the Liberty Bell, and seeing Ozzie Guillen (manager of the Chicago White Sox).

Don't worry I took a few stamps and images to color with me ... just need to assemble them into cards and post them!!!

ENJOY!
