Happy Birthday Bro

Little Guy

Here is a card that I made for my brother for his birthday. I used the Wonder and Joy set which is the Stamp of the Month at a special price this month. I colored him with copics and sponged the sky. I used the sentiment on the front and inside of this card and added gems.

Happy Birthday "little" brother (he is at least a foot taller than me).

ENJOY!

More Sympathy

So today is Tracy's funeral at 11:00 am .... I sure hope that I can make it through the service ... I know it will be great but just really sad ... he was only 45 and way too young to go .... I was asked to write a few things about Tracy for the pastor to read today. I tried to touch on some of the humorous and wonderful things about him ... it's still just going to be hard!!!!

Here are a few more cards that I made for all of my co-workers to sign:

Watercolor

I made this card with the TAC set called Watercolor plants. I used green and blue on the stamp and stamped once and then again for a lighter version. I used an octagon Nestability and a scalloped octagon Nestability for this card and added some brads to the corners. the sentiment is from Inky Antics. The dragonfly is again on this card and is from Garden Joy and is colored with a Stardust Glitter Pen.

I mounted the image on patterned paper and then pop-dotted the title on the ribbon.

Blessings

These are some of my favorite flowers by TAC. It is a set called Spring Flowers (it is retiring - get it now for 25% off). I colored the flowers with copics. I die cut the flowers out with an oval Nestability and matted it on a brown oval. I used Fabulous Frames and a retired sentiment and diecut the title block out. I added ribbon with the patterned paper. I pop-dotted the title panel and added colored leaves to the ribbon.

Again sympathy cards are not my forte ... but I think I did quite well on these.
One more is posted on my other blog today.

Rest in peace my dear friend and mentor Tracy ... you will be missed today and forever!

With Sympathy

Last week I talked about optimism and how I hoped I could find some find some.
My boss, my friend, my cheerleader, and my listening ear Tracy Barr has always been so optimistic.

Thursday we were informed that Tracy's rough fight against cancer had finally beaten him. My heart has been very heavy ever since then.

Of all the cards that I don't like making and can't seem to make ... it's sympathy cards. But work asked me to make a bunch for everyone at work to sign. So I had to try.

Here is what I came up with:
Waterfront

I made this card with the May/June TAC special set called Found Joy. I used the 2 greens again on the water grass and added some blue water and sponged the sky too. I used 2 different Nestabilities on the card. I used Fabulous Frames for the sentiment frame and Thinking of You for the sentiment. The dragonfly is from Garden Joy and is colored with a Stardust Glitter Pen.

I mounted the image on patterned paper and then pop-dotted the title. I added ribbon to the top of the card and viola!

I actually really LOVE how this card turned out!

Bloomin'

I also made this card with the May/June TAC special set called Found Joy. I used the 2 greens on the grass which is the water grass flipped over and stamped off the page. I used the flower stems form that set and then used the flowers from Squiggle Ladybugs (one of my all time favorite TAC sets and about to retire!!). I colored the flowers with copics. I used Fabulous Frames again for the sentiment frame and Savvy Sayings for the sentiment. The dragonfly is once again from Garden Joy and is colored with a Stardust Glitter Pen. I thought it would be great to tie all of the cards together with this sweet dragonfly!

Tracy always loved my cards ... he was so impressed when he heard that I had made it on the cover of the stamping magazine.

He will SOOO greatly be missed by me and my co-workers .. he was such a good guy. I commonly thought I wanted to be Tracy Barr when I "grew up" .... such a kind and giving man. He never got upset and was always calm cool and collected and never appeared stressed. I loved those qualities about him. A true leader.

I have been having some real moments lately ... not sure where my mind has been but it's not in my head.

This cheery card uses the Wonder and Joy set on special this month as the Stamp of the Month. If you like it be sure to contact me before the end of the month to guaranteee your special price. It is such a fun set to color! I used my copics to color it. I added a sentiment from Ordinary Greetings and then added ribbon. Viola ... easy, simple, and cute!

Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day

Simply Delightful

Hope all the mom's out there have a simply delightful Mom's Day. Ours started out with church and a special presentation by the kids. I also got some great tissue paper flowers and a frame with Chase's picture in it. As a special treat I also got some chocolate covered strawberries and apples .... YUM!!!

This card was made with the Found Joy special set from TAC (see 5/1/10 post). I turned the tall grasses over and stamped off the page for this grass. I stamped these in 2 green inks for dimension. I added the flowers and put brads in the centers of the flowers. The sentiment is from Wonder and Joy (which is on special this month - Stamp of the Month).

Enjoy ... Happy Mother's Day!

The Small Joys

Optimism

To me this card screams optimism. I used one of the new stamp sets called Found Joy from the Jubilation (see post on 5/1/10). I stamped the grass with dual green tones and added blue water to the bottom of the card. I stamped the sentiment in a fabulous frames and diecut it with a nestability. I added sponging and edging for more pop.

Optimism is something that I strive to have more of. Seems some people just have a gift of being so optimistic. A special person in my life has always been so optimistic. I have truly admired him and how he conducts himself with this.

Even now as he is battling to live just one more day, one more week, one more year he continues to be optimistic and never lets anything get to him.

Tracy you inspire me every day and I continue to be optimistic for you and pray everyday that you will somehow soon return to work!

Teacher Appreciation

Thanks to the Teachers

This week is teacher appreciation week and to close it out I made this card from my son's 3rd grade teacher. It uses For All Seasons stamp set by TAC and also the Fabulous Frames. I colored everything with my copics, cut out the frame with my nestability, and added ribbon. The frame is pop-dotted and everything was sponged and matted on black cardstock.

Viola!

Be sure to thank all of the teachers in your life!

You Rock

Diva

Here is another card in my Pigs Fly Series.

This card is for a friend of mine at work ... she is our little diva and loves the phrase "you rock". I think this card is perfect for her. This sentiment is from a TAC retired set called Kid Praises. I used fun flock on the boa and my stardust glitter pen on her glasses. I then finished the glasses with a coat of Crystal Laquer. I added gems and a scalloped circle and viola!

Enjoy!
