A lot of people familiar with TAC are familiar with Mabelle R.O. who is the creator of Whimsy and Stars Studio. She has been designing for TAC for a long time. Her images are fun and fresh and fun to color!
Sweet Birthday Wishes Chickie!
I took Mabelle's image called Birthday Chickie and colored it with my copics. I cut it out with my nestabilities and then matted it on another nestie. I popped it using my fun foam and then created my sentiment block. The sentiments are from Mabelle's TAC sets called Little Cupcake and Hoppity Skippity. They work so well together and so well on this card.
I added a ribbon and a couple of gems that I colored with my copics too. I love buying clear gems or epoxy elements and using my copics to color them. This week there is a challenge on Mad For Marker's Challenge Blog on Copic Colored Embellishments. I am entering this card for that challenge.
ENJOY!!!
Oh the Places ....
I have used this set (The Places You'll Go) before for some of my TAC Projects ... I just LOVE it for it's versatility and the fact that you can build scenes! The Dr. Suess saying is perfect for your upcoming graduation cards!!!
I colored the images with my copic markers and added some bling to the tires. I cut all of the images out and used fun foam (see below) to pop all of them.
Here is the sketch that we are using on the TAC Savvy blog this week:
Notice that I didn't follow it??? I rotated it 90 degrees!
Don't worry .... That is the greatest thing about sketches! ... if you want to rotate them or modify them slightly ... it's OK!!!
One thing that I love to do with my cards is "pop" the elements. I really like to use fun foam that you can buy in the kid's crafts section of your local craft store. You can buy a sheet of it with adhesive on one side for 99 cents (see below).
I cut pieces of it so that the entire piece is popped and won't fall or dip down.
I am excited to announce that I was a TAC Contest Winner! ....
I entered this in March for the April contest ... looks like things might have gotten mixed-up at TAC ... but oh well I won ... who cares what month!!! (I won the May placesetting entry).
Happy Birthday Cupcake
I used the Little Cupcake set and made a decorative straw, napkin ring, placemat, and placecard. I used "Happy Birthday" from Ordinary Greetings and stamped it on the napkin, plate, and bottom of the cup. I used Simple Bet to spell my name and make the placesetting for me!!
Oh ... and Yes ... I did eat that cupcake!!! It was Yummy!
ENJOY!
For You
I used this month's Stamp of the Month from The Angel Company called Sunflowers for this card. I love this stamp set and this month you get the whole set (5 stamps) for $7.95. To see the entire set click HERE.
p align="center">For this card I used a sketch from A La Card Monkey. I rotated it 90 degrees. I really liked this sketch!
ENJOY!
And here is my creation:
Flowers for Mom
I love taking little elements from different TAC sets and doing something different with them. For this card I took the daisies from Cup of Love and created a cute colored panel and then also randomly stamped them on my background paper. I added ribbon, a sentiment from Thinking of You, and a flower with a pearl gem.
ENJOY!
Why don't you pull out some cardstock and stamps and play along???
Post your creation below or just hop around and enjoy!
I am soooo excited!
Registration opened up this yesterday for CHA in Chicago in July!
I signed up and I was lucky enough to get a spot in 2 of Tim Holtz's classes and a spot in a Hero Arts class with Jennifer McGuire!
These guys are some of my favorite artists of all time!!! I can not wait!!!!
72 days!!! (and counting ....)
When I first read about the card chain challenge over on Lily Pad Cards, I just knew I had to play! The basic idea is that they give you a theme or sketch or colors to make a card with. You then make a card and then they will give you an address and then you send it away! You can read more about it HERE.
Sounds easy right? The only hard part is going to be actually parting with this awesome card! LOL!
Wanna Play?
I used the Summer Fibi and Lilly set and then added die cut clouds as a border. I then added a sentiment to the top from Spunky Sprite Girls.
The image was colored with my copics and the clouds were inked with Charcoal Palette ink.
I used the color palette below:
I also used the sketch they provided:
I can't wait to see the card that I get in return! This should be very very fun!
ENJOY!
A big thanks to all teachers (escpecially my son's!)
Mrs. Decman at my son's school teaches his 4th grade class ... and she has to be a saint! There are 12 boys and 2 girls in this class. The boys always seem to be up to something and it seems the girls are angels! This card is for her in honor of teacher appreciation week.
I made this card with scraps hanging around from another project. I used Mice Day and Background Soup and the "thanks" is from a retired set. I made it to the TAC sketch below.
Speaking of sketches ... this month is make a card a day celebration over on TAC Savvy. Every day they are recognizing an angel and allowing them to post thier creation on their blog for all to see. My day is May 19th!
So go ahead create a card and add it below!
ENJOY!
