Thanks to Melisa for hosting another TAC/PaperWings Blog Hop.
This week we had to use the set Butterfly Swirls. I didn't have this set and Melisa helped me out with some images. I had her stamp these for me in black ink on white cardstock. When I got them I didn't really like the plainness of them and wanted them on colored cardstock. But how would that happen ... I didn't have the stamps.
There in lies the magic of chalks!!! You can color ANY image that is black and white and the background as well. So that is just what I did for this challenge.
Black and White Image
Colored Image - Chalks
Colored the image with my Basic Bright Chalk Kit. I used pinks and purples and then also highlighted parts of the butterfly with my Stardust Glitter pen.
Here is the finished card
I used the chalks along with a punched scallop circle. The other image was colored with chalks as well. Notice how I covered up the butterfly in the middle of the swirls? That is the beauty too of papercrafting ... just cover up items that you don't want to see with other images - BRILLIANT! I also used Lilly Anna patterned paper on this card as well as some lilac cardstock. Added a darker mauve grosgrain ribbon and viola!
Chalking is even great for black and white clip art that you print off on your computer. Try it today!

i've got this set and love the way you've used it... thanks for the ideas....
Chelsea this is sooo clever!! I kept trying to figure out how you got your swirls stamp mirrowed on both sides, duhhhhhh. I sent you the images. Then I realized you put the big butterfly over the smaller one. Great idea! I love the chalking as well!
