I needed to make a birthday card for Chase's BFF. I was not sure what he was into but I knew he had played soccer this year. I stamped up a bunch of soccer balls with a $1 Studio G set. I then punched our the balls with a circle punch. The letters were die cut with my Sizzix. I then arranged the socccer balls on the card and pop-dotted a few of them. I loved the look of this card with the grass patterned paper and the black accents.
Paper Wings Blog Challenge
Seeds of Blessing
This card was made for a blog challenge over on Paper Wings. We had to use the set Seeds of Blessing. I choose to use the dragonfly from that set (surprise huh?). I colored him with colored pencils and OMS. I used my stardust glittering pen to add sparkle to his wings. I mounted him on chartreuse cardstock cut in an oval and then black cardstock cut in an oval. I added paper posies for some flowery accents. I used A Little Whimsy paper by TAC and added black brads to the top and bottom corners. I stamped the image and sentiment using Palette Noir ink. Thanks for Looking!

Angel Art Challenge - January
Over on Paper Wings site (a site devoted to all of you TAC lovers!!), Stacy challenged us to come up with a project using:
Glossy Cardstock
Felt
Buttons
Thread, ribbon, or scrappers floss to attach your buttons
1-2 additional embellishments
2-3 stamped images/sentiments
your choice of ink or color mediums
additional cardstock and/or patterned paper
Here was what I came up with:
Salsa Flowers - Thinking of You
I took the glossy cardstock and stamped a flower from the Salsa Flowers set with Versamark ink. I repeated this a few times and then put clear embossing powder on the images and embossed with my heat gun. Then I took my brayer and loaded it up with ink from the Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves ink pad. I rolled that over the images and then took a towel and wiped away any ink that might still be on the embossed areas. This technique is a really cool resist technique that I LOVE to do with glossy paper!
I punched out one of the salsa flowers with a circle punch. I then matted the strip on red cardstock and punched a scalloped circle out of the same red cardstock.
For a felt accent I used one of the felt flowers from the Ava embellishment jar. I also used one of the buttons from that jar and then tied tan scrapper's floss through the button.
I stamped "thinking of you" with the Ordinary Greetings set and used Moulin Rouge Palette ink.
For the finishing touch, I added red brads to the middle of each of the flowers along the bottom.

A "Magalogue" is a cross between a magazine and a catalogue. TAC will be putting out two of these a year and one main catalog. This is the first edition and has lots of new stamps and accesories in it.
It also is the return of all stamps being shown at 100%. No more guessing as to what the real size would be. Yea!!
Do you want your own copy? Send me an email ... I am expecting a shipment of these next week and I will get yours out right away.
I can't wait for the smell of fresh, new rubber!!!
Proud to be an American
In honor of inauguration day today and Barack Obama, I put together this card. The cute wagon stamp is from Inky Antics. I colored it with colored pencils and OMS. I then sponged the background blue. I tore some green paper for grass and then tucked it under the wheels for added depth. The sentiment is a $1 Studio G clear stamp.
I personally am proud to be an American today and I truly hope and believe that Obama is going to turn the nation around.
TAC Special Stamps
a little birdy told me
This is a special set that TAC is only offering for a limited time. It is called Early Bird and you can get it for $13.50 with any $30 purchase. I love the comic look of the birds in this set. If you like this set you better hurry ... it is only available until Feb 2nd.
For this card I colored it with colored pencils and OMS. I added a scalloped nestability rectangle. I added a little bling with black adhesive rhinestones and Viola!
Pretty Cow Thank You
I have had quite a few thank yous to make lately. I used an Udder Birthday set here and colored her with colored pencils and OMS. I used pink Glaze pens on her flowers to give them some depth. Used a retired set for the Thank You. Used my white Uniball Signo pen to add dots to the scallop circle and to the border. Ever wonder how I make my dots so nice and even??? It's the best thing ever ... needlepoint plastic canvas ... just lay it on and go to town. Added pink grosgrain and viola!
Basked Alaska
I had to make quite a few cards for the "older" male relatives in my family. This card and stamp just seemed to fit.
Stamp is by Gina K in her You Know when You are Old set. I colored it with colored pencils and OMS.
Inside of card
Used a candle for the inside from a retired TAC set.
I don't do too many "humorous" cards so this one was really special and I made it for those special guys in my life ... my Dad and Father in Law.
Go ahead spread some humor today ... make a "funny" card ....
Superbowl Invites
Every year for about the last 15 or so years we have been going to the same friend's house for the Superbowl. Even though we currently live almost 2 hours from them, they always have the best party and the drive seems worth it. This year to our surprise they decided not to have it. It's completely fine ... but then how boring will the Superbowl be??!!!!
So my husband and I have decided to have some of our close neighbor's over for a party. I had to take this opportunity to make invites (of course).
The green paper is printed paper (I love that grass). Then I die cut the football on my Silhouette machine. Stamped "your invited" and printed all of the party details inside. Pretty Simple!
Got Cake?
This ATC screams "love" to me as well. Maybe it's all the yummy cupcakes, or maybe it's the cute little guy, or maybe it's the red cardstock used.
I made this for a ATC swap involving slices of cake or cupcakes. I think this fits the theme quite nicely. I used a cupcake background stamp from Inky Antics. I colored in each cupcake with my prismacolor markers (that was tedious :) ) ... Then I stamped this little guy from Inkadinkado and colored him too. Cut everything out and matted it. The saying is also from the Inkadinkado set. Just Yummy!!!
Love Blooms Here
I made this card for a TAC swap that I am in. I used the new Love Blooms set by TAC. I used Versamark ink with Red Dragon embossing powder by Stampendous. The picture doesn't do the Red Dragon embossing powder justice. It is so sparkly and glittery in real life. The Red Dragon has red in it but also a lot of goldish glitter ... it's wonderful. Both the tree top and the heart on the bottom use this embossing powder. Tree bottom and sentiment as well as the edges of the tan cardstock were inked using the Burnt Sienna Palette ink. I mounted all of the tan pieces on red Bazzil cardstock. Added some tan grosgrain ribbon and viola!!

I picked up a retired Chili Pepper PSX stamp today (50% off!!!) and had to get it inked up when I got home. I wasn't sure if I want to color the image or not, so I made 2 cards with it ... both totally different!
Hot Chick
I stamped this image on the dark red/maroon and then mounted it on white cardstock. I punched a scalloped square and then cut it into 4ths creating 4 decorative corners. Stamped "Hey Chick" (by Inky Antics) and wrote in the word "Hot". Wrapped black velvet cording around card and viola!
Happy Birthday ... Hot Stuff
Stamped the image on white and colored with colored pencils and OMS. Mounted on red and pop-dotted onto the black card base. Punched red element with the Martha Stewart punch. Added white grosgrain ribbon and stamped "Happy Birthday" in Brilliance Moonlight White ink.
I have never met Glinda Chasteen (dreis1 on the Stamp Shack), but she was a frequent visitor to the site and commonly uploaded her beautiful works of art.
Sadly Glinda passed away on Christmas Eve last week.
At the Shack, Tami (teabear) came up with an idea to challenge ourselves and created something that was "inspired by Glinda".
Well I found this card in her gallery:
And I came up with this creation:
Snowmen from Heaven
Used my Creative Memories oval cutter. I cut some black and orange scraps for the hat and nose. I used some scrap ribbon for the scarf. I drew in the eyes, mouth, and buttons with a black Souffle pen. The background was stamped with TAC's Ornamental Snowflakes set in a few different shades of Palette blues. I then tore paper across the bottom for snow and added Palette Charcoal Grey to all of the "snow" edges. Sentiment seemed to fit and is some random TAC retired saying.
Never before has TAC offered stamps at 50% off ... WOW!!! What a great time to stock up!!!
I gotta go make my list!!!!
Contact me if you want to take advantage of this GREAT offer!!! (offer starts on Tuesday 1/6 but I can hold off placing your order until then!)
