Blog Hop - Easter Candy Gifts!

Welcome to this month's Blog Hop sponsored by Paper Wings!
Paper Wings is a great community site devoted to The Angel Company.


I decided to make an Easter Candy Gift Holder and give you the full details on how to make this cute and fast item. I think you'll agree that these are so simple, cost effective, and you can whip them up really fast.

1. You start by cutting a piece of cardstock to 4" x 12" (you can make 3 of these from one 12" x 12" sheet of cardstock). The heavier the cardstock the better.


2. Then you score it at 4", 6", and 10" using your ScorPal ... see above (I made pen lines to demonstrate where scores are ... so you can see)


3. Then make a 3" circle in the panel shown above. I used a circle Nestability.


4. Then take the Corner Chomper and 1/2" corner round each corner ... fold on scores and punch through both layers. The Corner Chomper works great for this project ... it goes through chipboard or multiple layers with ease!


Here is what it looks like after you've corner rounded.


5. Then cut a piece of transparency or acetate to 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" and attach it to cover the circle opening.


6. Using a 1" circle punch, punch a half circle in the top and across the bottom edge.


Here is what it looks like after you've punched the half circles.


7. Then it's time to decorate. I used the bunny and sentiment from the Hoppity Skippity set. I colored the bunny with my copic markers.


8. Finally fill it with your favorite treat (I used Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs). I use candy/treat bags that you can find at your local craft store in the candy/cake decorating aisle. They are about 4" x 10" long. I then tied it with pretty ribbon (I used Toodle Loo ribbon by TAC) and trimmed the excess bag.

Happy Birthday

Birthday Cupcake

I had to make a quick birthday card for a co-worker. I used Cupcake Cuties for this card with the sentiment from English Everyday Cuties.

I colored the cupcake with Copics and then added gold stickles to the flame. I punched it out with a circle punch and then mounted it on a scalloped circle made of the patterned paper. I matted everything and then added ribbon and gems.

It's a great and easy card to whip a whole bunch up!

Sock Monkey Madness
Today my BFF Kim and I (along with Jenni) went to Sock Monkey Madness here in my hometown of Rockford, IL. Did you know that the sock monkey was originated in Rockford, IL. It was and every year they host this wonderful Sock Monkey event! You can make your own sock monkey, learn all about the sock monkey, and buy just about anything for the sock monkey!

We started with breakfast at the Stockholm Inn and posed with the sock monkey.


Then it was off to Midway Village, where we had signed up to make our own sock monkey. We chose to make the special sock bunny though and Jenni made a monkey.

I named mine Izzy!

Did you know that TAC makes sock monkey stamps? I might just have to pick these up now that I have fallen in love with these cute and cuddly guys!

Simple Thanks!

I needed to whip up a bunch of thank you cards. These were easy, simple, and fast. I used the paper strip from a recent workshop and then added a dotted line with the scor-bug and my scor-pal. The inner scallop is from a new stamp set called Awesome Blossoms. I then mounted that on a scalloped circle. I added a half circle of the patterned paper and added the sentiment from English Cuties.

Fun, simple, and Easy!

Best Wishes

Wedding Day Wishes

I recently had to create a wedding card for a client of mine that loves my work ... I took this cake from Everyday Events and the frame from the Fabulous Frames with the sentiment from Savvy Sayings. The sentiment was then cut out with a Nestability and I added gems, a Flower, and a sparkly brad in the flower. I aslo pop-dotted the elements to add more depth.

She absolutely loved the card!

Winner!!!!

I am sooo doing a happy dance tonight!!!!

My #1 paper crafting goal for 2010 was to win a TAC contest. I have entered a few times in the past, but have never won.

Squiggle Lady Bugs

One of the 1st TAC sets that I ever owned was Squiggle Ladybugs. I love this set and I love the simple font sentiments that go with it.

I have never pop-dotted the wings on these bugs though and had to try it. I stamped them and embossed them and colored them with copics. I added a few doodle marks to make them appear to be flying. I added this red and white polka dot ribbon too.

One of my favorite color combos in red, black, and white ... very classy!

You Can't Find a Card for this Topic in Hallmark!


I love making cards ... and what could be better than personalizing the card for the recipient.
A friend of mine at work has done a wonderful thing! She was determined to be a bone marrow match to a complete stranger. She was a perfect match and by her donating bone marrow was going to save this 23-year old's life. She jumped at the chance .... and in return our work place gave her paid time off.
Everyone wanted to pass around a card for her and make it special ... so they came to me to design something for her.
This is what I came up with:

I call this - Life Saver in the Sea of Bone Marrow!

I took the life saver as clipart from my computer. It fits perfect in this Nestability don't you think??? I typed the sentiment on my computer and added it. The bones are from an old TAC set and I gave them dimension with my Copics. Then I stamped "Marrow" with Simple Bet and embossed it. I added ribbon and pop-dotted the sentiment.

You just can't find this type of card in Hallmark!!

We are going to give it to her with a Cookie bouquet of "bone" cookies.

She is my hero!

January TAC Blog Hop



Hello Valentine

For my project I used a new hostess set called "Hello For All Seasons". This set can be yours for FREE if you host a party totaling $250 or more.

I love all of the options that you have with this set. I used the heart for my background. I stamped them all over and then colored them with my Copic markers (RR29 &R59) I then stamped "hello" on a separate piece of white cardstock. I colored that as well. I added "Valentine" from a GWP set from last year.

I made this quite a dimensional card by pop-dotting the hello title block and then also pop-dotting the heart in the middle of the "o". I matted everything on black (I love the red, white, and black color combo). I added a few black gems and viola!!

Here is a side view.

Can you feel the EXCITEMENT!!!! The new Serendipity catalog goes live TOMORROW - January 25th!!! 1 week early!

With Sympathy
I'm not very good with sympathy cards or what to write in the sympathy card. So I decided to make a simple card with Watercolor Plants from TAC. I cut it out with a Nestability and also cut one out with the new nestability frame set. All of the edges were sponged with Lavender Sachet ink. I added the sentiment from the new Savvy Sayings set. I added a line of scoring with my ScorBug. I finished it off with gems and ribbon.
