It's an Exciting Week ....

What an EXCITING week! .....

This Friday it's the unveiling of the new A*MUSE STUDIO catalog!!!

Can I get a whoop whoop!!!

This was made with the new set called Hey Cupcake (available to order on Feb 1st)

I also used for the base of the card .. Grapefruit cardstock .... (also available Feb 1st)

I stamped the frosting and then stamped the frosting with my Versamark ink. Added the Diamond embossing powder and Viola ... Gorgeous frosting!!!

This is kind of a different look for me .... and I LOVE it!!!!

I took the heart dies and randomly cut out on the kraft cardstock. I then layered that pop-dotting on cherry shimmer cardstock. I added cherry baker's twine and a button and the sentiment.

Here is a side view showing the dimension of the card and the shimmer of the card!

Good Fortune

I made this birthday card with the a*muse set called Good Fortune (recently placed on the retiring list so contact me quick if you'd like to pick one up).

I colored them with my copics and then used my xacto knife to slice into a cookie and place the forecast out of it. I used french roast cardstock and french roast gingham cardstock.

The inside reads ... "wishing you luck & good fortune"

I gave this to co-worker for her birthday who is also a stamper ... hope she enjoys it!

A Look Back on 2011 ....

As I look back on 2011 ...

I pause to reflect on this past year....

I started out this year selling for my beloved Angel Company

Unfortunately in August of this year ... they decided to hang up their wings and close their doors ... it was a very sad weekend.

But then I decided to carry on and joined a*muse studios

It's been a wonderful new ride for me with a bunch of new customers and a wonderful array of offerings to delight them (and me) with.

Work Treats

Every year I pull together some treats for my co-workers ...

It's really hard because so many people work on my teams and help me throughout the year ... this year I made 96 of these!!!

I found it hard to find a good treat to fit in them and then viola!!! Kisses fit!!!

I bought bulk bags of kisses at Walmart!

The tags were embossed and the red, silver, and white was very elegant and classy!

Gift Card Holder

Here is another wonderful item from my Wrap it Up for the Holiday event.

It's great for those last minute gifts of Gift Cards (actually I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting gift cards to go shopping myself ) ... hint hint honey!!! :)

For this one we used the impression plates from a*muse and then sanded them ... to resemble snow. We added a snowflake that we cut with the die ... little ribbon... few scallops ... a sentiment and viola!!!

All closed up with a fun magnet closure!

Snow Ornament

Happy Holidays ...

Here is a cute little guy that we recently made at my "Wrap it Up for the Holidays" Event.

It's an ornament filled with glitter and glittery cellophane.

I started by paper piecing the snowman onto an overhead transparency.

I rolled that up and stuffed it into the clear acrylic ornament. I than added some glitter and glittery cellophane that I cut up. I added a nice blue satin ribbon and wonderful silver cording.

Sweet Gingerbread

I recently participated in a swap with some of my A*Muse friends and I got a great card from Maria Van Stratton (one of my downline).

I asked her if I could change it up slightly and use it for my card open house ... she said YES :)

This is what I did ... changed up the sentiment and added ink to the edges.

I really love it and was so inspired by her!

We made this card at my Christmas Card Workshop a few weeks ago.

It is super simple and elegant and you can mass produce these pretty easily.

(Ssshhh this is my card going out to most of my family and friends :) )

I stamped the holly and holly berries and then add sparkle with my glitter pen to the holly berries.

This picture does not do this card justice .... The sparkle of these snowflakes is FAB!!!

I read on some blog about this technique ... not sure what it's called ... for my purpose I will name it Embossed Vellum!

Here's how I made them:

1. You die cut the snowflakes out of vellum (I used the awesome A*Muse Snowflake dies)

2. You cover them with VersaMark Ink

3. You then sprinkle them with A*Muse Diamond Embossing Powder

4. You heat them with an Embossing Gun.

The result is a glittery thin and translucent snowflake ... it is WONDERFUL!!!

I used a strip of the silver shimmer cardstock on this as well.

The sentiment was also stamped with Versamark and then embossed with Silver powder.

This one is no different!

Christmas ATCs

Here are a few ATCs that I made for an a*muse studio ATC swap.

I stamped the poinsettia in cranberry ink and then dotted the middle with a Versamarker. I added gold embossing powder to the centers then.

This was all done on the Twas the Night Before Christmas paper and I sponged that with red. I added a little "Joy" and viola!

Beautiful Poinsetta

I stamped this poinsetta 3 times ... once with a yellow and twice with red.

I cut each layer out and layered it with pop-dots.

I used the leaves from Kindred Spirits and then mounted all of that on the Twas the night Before Christmas paper sponged with red. Embossed the sentiment in white.

I truly think this is beautiful and a wonderful mix of a*muse studio product.

I love this look of stockings hung for Christmas.

I made the stocking out of felt, flower ribbon, and bakers twine.

I used washi tape and the scalloped die for a ledge. Gems for places to hook onto.

It was my dad's birthday this weekend and here was the card that I made for him.

I love the look of the gingham as the background paper and the addition of the cloud.

I also sponged the sky with sky ink.

The pearl worked out perfectly for the golf ball.

A friend of mine at work needed some note cards for her grandmother who is turning 90!

How could I say no!

For these I took Avian Notes and stamped them in grass green. I added the cardinals from Christmas Joy and the sentiment from Essential Sentiments. I sponged the background with sky ink and wrapped cherry baker's twine around the main panel. I mounted this panel on sage cardstock and put that onto a sky cardstock card.

Christmas Blog Hop

This month's blog hop theme was Christmas ... and if you are anything like me you are scrambling in December to get all of your Christmas cards out!!

This card is not only a cute card, but it's fast and EASY!

First I stamped a reindeer on kraft cardstock using French Roast ink. Then I tore some sugar cardstock and added some baker's twine. I stamped the sentiment and embossed it in white embossing powder. I matted the whole thing on cherry cardstock and added some bling to the reindeer's nose!

Wonderfully Wicked

In honor of Halloween today, I decided to show you three ways that I have used the Too Cute to Spook set with the Sleepy Hollow Paper to create some fun, fun, fun cards.

here I sponged the Sleepy Hollow Paper with Onyx ink and embossed the cat with black embossing powder. Used my die cut bats and cloud (sponged with slate ink) and punched a circle for the moon.

Here I did much of the same but used more bats and added some baker's twine.

Here I did much of the same above just used different cardstock and a different layout.

Sheltering Tree

I love this saying and tree from Woodland Friends.

I stamped it on French Roast and Sage and cut out the two peieces to make the tree. I popped it along with a cloud that I die cut.

I added some sky ink by sponging it on the background. Added a few pearls to the lower right hand corner.

I recently made about 25 of these cards for a great swap that I was in hosted by Rita Holmes ... it was wonderful!

Button Button who's got a Button???

I've got buttons and when you order "Not Your Grandma's Bag of Buttons" you too can have buttons ... and LOTS of them. You get close to 250 buttons of the same color for $5.95!!! That is a GREAT deal!

So I did not feel guilty at all when I put 12 buttons on this card! I used the flower from Nordic Noel and then added the buttercup buttons and added a sentiment from Essential Sentiments.

How Ya Bean???

I love using stamps to create my background and to add elements to my cards.

For this card I used the The Perfect Blend stamp set as my main focus. I also used the Ovalicious set with the oval as my table that the coffee cup is on. I used the French Roast ink for the beans and the images .. fitting huh????

I colored the cup with my copics an pop dotted the circle and the sentiment.

Happy .... yet a little Sad!

I was ecstatic when I got a white envelope in the mail today!

It's the new Scrap & Stamp Arts Holiday Edition!

And I am in there with not 1, not 2, but 3 Holiday tags!!!!!

I think these are sooooo cute!

The only sad part ... these are some of my most FAVORITE stamps from TAC and now they are no longer available. I had submitted these to the magazine back in early June... Who would have known???

Ok ... back to celebrating that I was published!!!!

A*Muse Studio Blog Hop - Scrapbooking!

Friends Fur-Ever

I had so much fun with this scrapbooking page. There is so much of this page that is definitely Kim!

This picture was taken the day that Kim and I met in person for the first time. We have only known each other for 4 years but it seems like "fur-ever". She and I were members on the Papercrafts Message Board and then the Stamp Shack. Both of these places we posted info about ourselves, stamping, and such. One day I noticed that she lived in Janesville, WI and I was pretty sure that was only 30 minutes or so from me. I said we had to meet ... and we did! We met at Starbucks (a regular place for us now) and then we went to this fabulous Scrapbooking and Stamp store just down the road (see all the yummy wooden stamps behind us!) Sadly Kim and I my friendship has outlived this store ... we loved it and could spend and have spent hours upon hours just perusing the shelves! My day does not seem complete unless I have talked to Kim that day ... it is hard for us to go even one day not talking to each other. A lot of people think we are sisters .... and though we are not ... we sure do have A LOT in common ... family issues, both have sons, both sold for the Angel Company, and most of all our tastes are VERY similar!

For this scrapbook page I put a lot of thought into what I wanted to do .....

I decided to make a little scene from the Friends Fur-ever stamp set. I used the squirrel, the leaves, and most of the sentiment sayings from that set. I added a few clouds that were die cut and then dusted with Sky ink. I stamped all of the sentiments on kraft cardstock (Kim loves Kraft - she's a tree hugger!). I made those rocks myself (Kim is my ROCK!) ... I cut them out freehand and then dusted them with Slate Grey ink and Black Momento. I used Sky Gingham cardstock for the background. The page is 8" x 8" matted with Sugar cardstock. I used my new grass die for the grass and used Sage cardstock for that. The Tree and tree sentiment was from the Woodland Friends stamp set and seemed to go perfectly! They were paper-pieced out of sage cardstock and french roast cardstock. I added some dimension by pop-dotting certain elements to the page ... the clouds, the grass, the squirrel, and the sentiments.

I just love it ... and the best part ... I get to see her on Sunday as she is coming over to my A*Muse Studio Open House!!

Happy October!

Today is October 1st and marks the start to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I recently joined a swap for Breast Cancer ATCs ... this stamp which was one of the last ones that I got from TAC, I knew would work out just perfectly. I colored them with my copics and added glitter pen to wings.

It would be rare for any of us NOT to know someone effected by breast cancer. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is .... The good thing is that a lot of the people that I know who it has touched lately are fighters and have beaten it!!! So there is HOPE!

Happy Breast Cancer Awareness month. Be sure to do those self exams! They are important.

It was the best day ever (please sing the SpongeBob song now! LOL)

Me and my BFF Kim headed out to Rosemont, IL to Amuse Studio's On the Road conference!

Here I am with Linda the founder and CEO of Amuse Studios ... she was sooo nice and knowledgeable.

It was great to be recognized as a new consultant and I had 4 of my downline with me!!!
