New Catty from the Angel Company

It's here - the new 2009-2010 catty.

Here are a few sneak peaks at some of the new sets. I did not count yet how many there are.

There are also a few new accessories/tools.

If you would like to order a copy of your own catty please contact me ... I should have them in the next week and I can get one to you right away.

Seminar Update
We are having a blast ... we had "Project Playground" where we made make and takes and we also tried out new coloring techniques. There was also a "Stamp Your Heart Out" section where we could stamp images to take home with us to make samples with.

Seminar Swaps

One of my favorite things at Seminar (besides the unveiling of the new catty of course) is swaps and swapping with other angels.

This year I made card fronts and "special" trades.

Here is my card front card:

Sweet Birthday Wishes

I used my favorite set from the Magalogue called Little Cupcake. I stamped the cupcake in blue ink and then colored it with colored pencils and OMS. I mounted it on a scalloped circle and then stamped the sentiment also from Little Cupcake in blue ink as well. I added a splash of coordinating colors with adding paper strips from either the Kaleidoscope Boyz or A Little Whimsy.

I made just over 80 of these to swap!

For my "special" trade I made a post-it note holder. I figured everyone could use post-it notes to mark the pages with new sets that were on their wish list.

Front

I used a stamp from the set that we received for seminar. I colored the contents of the pencil jar with copics and then paper pieced the can with paper from the Uptown Girl collection. I punched a black scalloped circle and mounted that on 4" coasters that I covered with Uptown Girl paper as well. I used my Bind It All to bind it together and then adhered the post-its inside.

Inside

Back

I made 24 of these. (I know there are only 16 in this picture!)

Well I am off .... hoping to post a few snippets once I get my hands on the new catty!!! I am sooo excited!

TAC Seminar 2009

Well it's finally here ... TAC Seminar. I am headed off tomorrow and can not wait.

One of our tasks was to take a chipboard heart that they sent us with our registration pack and to "decorate it".

I was stumped and not really sure what to do ... then I had an idea and here is the result:

First I covered the heart with Uptown Girl paper and inked the edges with Claret ink. Then I added Modge Podge to the heart to stiffen it up and make it more durable. After it dried, I added 2 flowers to it and attached them with pink eyelets.

Then I took the girl stamp that came in our Seminar stamp set and paper pieced her dress out of Uptown Girl paper. I colored her hair, face, and scissors with copics. I used a white gel pen on her lace collar. Then I completely covered her with Modge Podge. Then I cut a thin strip of white cardstock and stamped "Seminar 2009" and of course then Modge Podged that.

I put the whole thing together using foam tape to make it have more of a 3D effect .... and the great thing ... it's not heavy!

I connected it to my badge ... but I wanted to make it removable. So I added velcro! Gotta love Velcro!

This is the side view ... You can see how 3D it is in real life.

Ok ... off to finish packing ... more fun snipets over the next couple of days.

New Robot Set -Preview

Robot Birthday

Earlier this month I shared the new robot sets that TAC released from their new catalog EARLY. I love these guys are from TAC called Robots and if this is just a snippet of the things to come ... I can not wait! ... JUST A FEW MORE DAYS!!!

So I received these just the other day and had to play!

If you like them and would like them at a reduced price act fast! From now until the end of June - place a $30 order and get them at a special price of $13.50!

I did something different - I punched a scalloped circle but I wanted it to look like a gear so I gently clipped each scallop. I think it turned out pretty good (better than I could have done free hand). I stamped the sentiment across the card alternating in black and blue. Cut some thin strips of black and blue and adhered those. Added a few eyelets and then mounted the whole thing on black.

Keep watching this week .... more previews of things to come and by the end of the week I will have sneak peeks of the brand new catty!

Under the Sea

Seahorse

I made this ATC for a swap over at the Stamp Shack. I used some new techniques to me and I love how it turned out.

You start with a white piece of cardstock ... it eventually turns blue! I stamped the seahorse using a retired TAC stamp set (one of my first and my favorite). I then colored him with my copics. I then stamped the air bubbles. I then stamped the green seaweed from the TAC Ocean Buddies set and then covered it with clear embossing powder and set it with the embossing gun. I colored/covered the air bubbles and seahorse with my Versamark marker. I applied clear embossing powder to those items and then set those with the embossing gun.

I sponged blue all over the background (3 shades) and then stamped the blue seaweed with Cote D'Azure blue ink. Once you are done with this you take a paper towel and rub all of the ink off of the embossed images.

It turns out wonderful and it is kind of masked. The other cool thing is that some of your images are shiny and glossy from the embossing powder while others are not ... gives a lot of depth to the images and project.

Tree Scene

Thinking of You

I made this card with stamps created by a fellow Shackie from the Stamp Shack - Beth Norman. Beth recently set up her own stamp store called Sunflowers and Dragonflies and sells her stamps. They are wonderful! They are clear and perfect for coloring! The stamp set that I used is called Four Seasons.

I masked the trees to make my little scene. I sponged on blue ink for the sky and green ink for the grass. I stamped the blades of grass (also in this set) in the same green. I colored in the trees with my Copics and also colored in the butterfly. The sentiment is also from this set and I stamped that in black. I matted the entire thing on black cardstock.

Manly Card

Fore!

I am not so good at the manly cards, as I love to make cards with flowers, ribbon, and bling. But this one screams "male" with the golfer on the front. I picked up this golfer stamp weeks ago at the $1 per stamp garage sale that I stumbled upon ... he is about 4" tall. I colored him with copics. I found a golf ball image on the web and printed it and pop dotted it. The "Fore" is stamped with the TAC Simple Bet alphabet set.

This would make a great Birthday Card or Father's Day card for the male in your life!
