Calendar Swap

October 2009

*** If you think you are in a deja vu ... you are ... this is a repost from last year ... it's an oldie but a goodie ***
Last year, I participated in a calendar swap with other TAC Angels. This was the second year that I participated. I was lucky enough to get assigned October and use my Halloween stamps. (of course I used Trick or Treaters). Each person made 12 calendar pages of their month and then you got back January - December that are all made by other swappers. This was really fun and every month is inspiring.

For this calendar page, I stamped the orange paper with "trick or treat" in black ink. I then stamped 3 of the trick or treaters on white paper and colored them with colored pencils and OMS. The "October" is TACs Double Line Bet (retired) that I colored in with orange colored pencils and OMS. The pumpkin is from the For All Seasons set and is also colored in with colored pencils and OMS. I edged the edges with black ink and matted the calendar and month with black cardstock. I found a great web site to print calendars too.

Witchie Witchie

Trick or Treating

I had another recent ATC to do that was supposed to be witches. This has to be my favorite witch! I use her a lot as you can see! I colored her with my copics and then masked her head off. I then stamped "Trick or Treat" so it looks like it is behind her. I mounted it on black and then mounted that on green cardstock. Simple and sweet!

Shutter Card

So I recently made this card at a friend of mine's TAC get together .. again using my favorite set (Trick or Treaters).

It looks much harder than it actually is!

And the bonus is that you can use your scraps of patterned paper!!

The card base is 5 1/2" x 12"
You score it with your ScorPal at 2", 4", 8", and 10"

You than make cuts 1 1/2" in from the 2" score to the 10" score on the top and the bottom.

You then fold the card on all of score lines to make it look like the sample.

Now it's time to adhere your paper. I used paper from a retired TAC Halloween paper collection and cut the following quantity and sizes:

(2) 1 1/4” x 3 3/4”
(4) 1 1/4” x 1 3/4”
(2) 1 3/4” x 5 1/4”
(1) 2 1/4” x 3 3/4”
(2) 2 1/4” x 1 3/4”

Then finally you embellish with images and embellishments!

Enjoy!

Skulls Anyone?

Skull ATC

I needed to use a skull on an ATC swap ... Wow! ... That must be one thing that I do not have in my stamp collection. But I always have my handy dandy Trick or Treaters set and the skeleton guy in that.

I stamped him with white New Canvas Palette ink on the black cardstock. I punched him in a circle and then layered it on a white circle. I stamped the white background with swirls from the Curls and Swirls set. Then I stamped "Eeek" randomly from an old TAC Halloween SOTM set from a few years back. I sponge-edged the white cardstock with more black ink. I added black grosgrain and then pop-dotted the circle on top. I matted all of that on more black cardstock.

Hallowed Stamp Set

Do you have a favorite stamp set that you keep going back to because you love it so much? I sure do and it's the Trick or Treaters set by TAC. I got this set when it first became available 2 years ago and I am so glad that it's still current! I think besides it being so cute ... it's a great set to color with!

So for the next few days, I will show you projects that I have made with this set. First I made the following card for a Fall Swap .... Halloween to me SCREAMS fall!

Trick or Treat

I stamped the sentiment and the witch and from the Trick or Treaters set and then colored her with my Copic markers. I sponge-edged the piece with black ink and then mounted it on black card stock. I sponge-edged the pattern paper with black ink as well and mounted that on black. I added a flower and a button and threaded black scrapper's floss through the button and twirled it.

More fun to share tomorrow .....
